I first started working with Matt Hull three months ago. When I first started, I was badly out of shape, feeling broken, hopeless, hurting and unsure of what I could achieve. Today, I am leaving every session stronger, more confident, and armed with the belief that I am capable of anything. This transformation is entirely thanks to Matt's exceptional skill and profound dedication as a personal trainer.

When I first started working with him, I was overweight, my back and shoulders hurt all the time because of years of pushing myself around in my wheelchair. It hurt so much to move so I was moving around as little as possible. I was battling depression and my diet was all out of whack. Like most people, I was eating too many carbs, too much sugar and not enough protein or drinking enough water. He helped me see the problem and taught me easy ways of doing better. Now, I’m drinking more water, eating more protein and far less carbs and sugar and I’m feeling so much happier and more energetic.
He has a unique talent for designing intense, efficient, and engaging workouts that are perfectly tailored to me as a person in a wheelchair, constantly pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible. Before I started working with Matt, I had never picked up a kettlebell or done a bench press with free weights in my entire life. When I was in college, I went to a gym regularly but limited myself to just using the machine weights because I thought using free weights would be too difficult. Now, three months later, the kettlebell and the barbell have become important pieces of my workout routine.
Perhaps the most powerful and most important lesson I've learned from Matt isn’t the importance of the journey itself but the importance of all the little steps taken that make up that journey. He has created a safe, supportive environment where failure is seen as a necessary step on the path to success. Failure isn’t something to be feared or avoided but rather something to be experienced and learned from. If one sits in place because he’s afraid of failing down, then he’ll never learn anything or go anywhere which is worse than falling down. Falling down is part of life. Matt has taught me how to pick myself up and keep moving forward and celebrated each small step along the way.
Matt's infectious passion and unwavering belief in his clients instills a confidence that extends far beyond the gym walls. In three short months, my self-esteem, self-worth, and physical strength have skyrocketed. Working with Matt is the wisest investment I have ever made in myself.
